Willapa Valley School District is seeking a dynamic, responsible individual to oversee all aspects of the district's operations, including educational programs, financial management, personnel management, and community relations. The Superintendent is expected to provide leadership, vision, and direction to ensure the district meets its goals and objectives.
About Willapa Valley
Willapa Valley School District # 160 is located in Menlo, about 50 miles west of Chehalis and 6 miles east of Raymond in the lush and beautiful Willapa Valley. We take pride in our schools, our students, our staff, and our community.
The District serves about 350 students in grades Preschool - Grade 12, housed on two campuses, Preschool - Grade 5 at Willapa Elementary and Grades 6 - 12 at Willapa Valley Middle & High School.
Updated facilities, small class sizes, ample access to technology, and a strong CTE programs characterize the district. The district’s small size allows for tailored instruction to meet the needs of individual students. We know our students and their families; we know their abilities and their needs; we know their dreams for the future. Special Education services are provided in cooperation with the ESD 113 Special Ed Consortium.
The District mascot is the Viking, and we take pride in our strong academic and athletic traditions. We have formed an athletic cooperative with the Pe Ell school district for football, boys' baseball, and girls' fastpitch; these teams are known as the PWV Titans; other sports teams are known as Willapa Valley Vikings.
Compensation will be competitive with local districts.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement policies and procedures that support the district's mission and goals
- Provide leadership and direction to district staff, including principals, teachers, and support staff
- Ensure compliance with state and federal laws and regulations
- Develop and manage the district's budget, including monitoring expenditures and revenues
- Build positive relationships with parents, community members, and other stakeholders
- Foster a positive and inclusive school culture that promotes student achievement and well-being
- Develop and implement strategies to improve student achievement, including curriculum development, teacher training, and assessment
- Evaluate the performance of district staff and provide feedback and support as needed
- Represent the district at community events, meetings, and conferences
- Stay up-to-date on trends and best practices in education and share information with district staff and stakeholders
Requirements:
- Master's degree in education or related field
- Valid Washington State Superintendent certification preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in educational leadership, including experience as a building administrator
- Strong knowledge of educational policies, procedures, and regulations
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with staff, parents, and community members
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage budgets and financial resources effectively Willingness to "wear many hats" as small school administrator and handle a variety of responsibilities -Live in the district or be willing to work toward it
