Vicksburg Community Schools, a premier K–12 public school district in southern Kalamazoo County, is seeking a committed and dynamic Full-Year Long-Term Substitute Elementary Teacher for the 2025–2026 school year.

Our District serves over 2,600 students across one high school, an alternative high school, one middle school, and three elementary schools. With a dedicated team of approximately 160 teachers and 200 support staff, Vicksburg Schools is known for its strong sense of community and shared commitment to educational excellence.

Position Summary:

This full-year substitute position will fill the role of a classroom teacher at Indian Lake Elementary school (K–5). The successful candidate will provide high-quality instruction, foster a positive classroom environment, and support the academic and social-emotional growth of all students in accordance with district goals and curriculum.

Qualifications:

Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate
Elementary Education (ZG or ZA endorsement preferred)
Strong classroom management and instructional skills
Excellent verbal and written communication
Ability to accept and implement feedback
Effective organizational and planning abilities
Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and dependable attendance
Must support the District's mission, values, and building-level goals
Prior elementary teaching experience preferred
