Summary
Robert Stuart Middle School is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment for students with diverse learning needs. This role requires collaboration with educators, families, and support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that promote academic and social growth.

Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Collaborate with general education teachers to modify curricula and teaching strategies to accommodate students with disabilities.
- Provide direct instruction and support to students in both one-on-one and small group settings.
- Assess and evaluate student progress, adjusting instructional methods as necessary to meet individual needs.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student performance and IEP documentation.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and educational strategies.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss student needs and progress.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and participation.
- Stay current with special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Attend professional development workshops and training sessions to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Must meet Idaho certification - Exceptional Child Certificate with Generalist K-12 endorsement.
- Experience working with students with disabilities in a middle school setting is preferred.
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, families, and colleagues.
- Ability to differentiate instruction and adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable learning environment for all students.
- Proficiency in using educational technology and software to enhance student learning.
