Sawtooth is seeking a dedicated and empathetic school counselor to join a school community committed to students and their academic and emotional growth. This position plays a key role in the development of the whole student and increases school success by alleviating the social and emotional stressors present in a student’s life.

The elementary counselor will provide services to students, parents, teacher and administrators to help each child reach his/her academic, social, emotional and civic potentials. This goal will be reached by counselor activities in the following areas:

classroom instruction for students,
individual and group counseling,
consultation with significant adults in the child’s life,
participation in building child study teams, and
coordination with school resources and non-school agencies.

QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum)

Master’s degree in guidance and counseling
Pupil Personnel Service certificate endorsement through the State Department of Education
At least two years teaching experience in grades K-12
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the board may find appropriate and acceptable

Desired:

Three years of teaching experience
Two years experience as a counselor

Employment is contingent upon board approval and successful completion of federal background check and drug-free workplace pre-employment screening.

Elementary Counselor
