Summary
Weiss Elementary School is seeking dedicated, passionate, and highly motivated Upper Elementary Teacher to join our vibrant educational community. The successful candidates will be responsible for teaching students in fourth grade and will need to be able to foster a positive learning environment, engage students in dynamic lessons, and promote academic achievement. This full-time position requires a commitment to student development and collaboration with fellow educators and staff to provide a well-rounded educational experience.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet curriculum standards and cater to diverse learning styles.
- Create a positive classroom environment that encourages student participation and fosters a love for learning.
- Assess and evaluate student progress through regular assignments, tests, and observations, providing constructive feedback.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to support student learning and address any concerns.
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to design interdisciplinary projects and activities.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with educational best practices.
- Manage classroom behavior and implement strategies to promote a respectful and inclusive learning environment.
- Prepare and maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other required documentation.
- Organize and participate in school events, including open houses, parent-teacher conferences, and extracurricular activities.
- Support the social and emotional development of students by promoting positive relationships and conflict resolution skills.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification for elementary education in the state.
- Previous teaching experience, preferably in a 4th-grade classroom, is preferred but not required.
- Strong understanding of child development and effective teaching strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to create a positive and engaging learning environment.
- Proficiency in using technology and educational software to enhance learning.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and collaboration with colleagues.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Passion for working with children and fostering their academic and personal growth.
