Summary
The Substitute Bus Aide plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of students during transportation. This position is responsible for assisting the bus driver in managing the bus environment, providing support to students, and ensuring that all safety protocols are followed. The Substitute Bus Aide will work on an as-needed basis, filling in for regular bus aides during absences.

Responsibilities
- Assist the bus driver in the safe boarding and disembarking of students.
- Monitor student behavior to ensure compliance with safety rules and regulations.
- Provide support to students with special needs, ensuring they receive appropriate assistance.
- Communicate effectively with students and parents regarding transportation-related concerns.
- Maintain a clean and organized bus environment.
- Report any incidents or issues to the bus driver and transportation supervisor.
- Assist in emergency situations, following established safety protocols.
- Attend training sessions and meetings as required.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by transportation management.

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience working with children or in a school setting preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Patience and a positive attitude when interacting with students.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Flexibility to work on an as-needed basis, including mornings and afternoons.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- First Aid and CPR certification preferred, or willingness to obtain.
