ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL VACANCY for the 2025-2026 School Year
- Middle School Assistant Principal - White Pine
220 workdays per School Year
Salary range $91,000 - 108,000 - Position Overview:
White Pine Middle School has been designated as a Michigan School to Watch for excellence in middle level education since 2006. Our middle school is for grades 6-8 with an enrollment of approximately 1,000 students assigned to Learning Communities. Learning Communities usually consist of about 120 students who are taught by a team of four core teachers. Each grade is housed in grade-specific building on an open campus with other school facilities in separate buildings (e.g., cafeteria, gymnasium, theater and library). The middle school administrative team is comprised of a Principal and three (3) Assistant Principals. An Assistant Principal is responsible for the overall operation of specific grade level.

Qualifications:
- Meet the state certification requirements to serve as a school administrator.
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate required.
- Valid Michigan Secondary Teaching Certificate preferred.
- Master's Degree in school related field.
- Five years of successful teaching experience, with at least three years in a secondary school.
- Administrative experience preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to lead staff in change process through collaboration and problem solving.
- Proficiency in use of technology and knowledge of technology integration with curriculum.
- Experience in leading organizational and instructional change to support success for all learners.
- Knowledge of secondary curriculum, Michigan Merit Curriculum, Michigan Regulations and requirements, understanding of data analysis, MTSS, MIBLSI, progress monitoring, NWEA. Experience preferred.
- Understanding of master scheduling for a large secondary school. Experience preferred.
- Understanding of teacher evaluation; experience with the 5D+ Teacher Evaluation system desirable.
Mental/Physical Requirements:
- Maintain emotional control under stress
- Ability to use sound judgment; tact and courtesy in a variety of situations
- Work with frequent interruptions
- Prolonged use of computer
- Possible occasional lifting or pushing of up to 25 pounds
- Standing, walking, sitting, stooping, bending and kneeling
