Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Upper Elementary Teacher to join our team at Arrowwood Elementary School. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching students in grades 3-5 and providing them with a well-rounded education that fosters academic, social, and emotional growth that meets the unique and individual needs of all students.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the school curriculum and state standards
- Create a positive and engaging classroom environment that promotes learning and student participation
- Must possess knowledge and understanding of elementary school classroom management and organization, current best practices in the areas of language arts, math, science, and social studies teaching and learning
- Knowledge and experience administering and using a variety of performance assessment tools
- Assess student progress and provide feedback to students and parents/guardians
- Use a variety of teaching strategies and techniques to accommodate different learning styles and abilities
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to plan and coordinate school-wide events and activities
- Attend and participate in faculty meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and professional development opportunities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student attendance, grades, and behavior
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about student progress and any concerns
- Knowledge and experience administering and using a variety of performance assessments
- Regular in-person attendance required
Requirements:
- Valid Michigan Elementary teaching certificate
- May consider applicants who are willing to commit to obtaining certification
- Strong knowledge of subject matter and teaching techniques
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of diverse learners
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Passion for teaching and a commitment to student success
Preferred:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience teaching in an elementary school setting
