Posting Information: We are currently hiring for a Student Services Coordinator Teacher for Shelton High School beginning with the 2025-2026 school year. Open through April 24, 2025.

Location: Shelton High School

Salary: $64,664 - $119,032 annually, depending on experience.

FLSA Status: Exempt

Overview

The Student Services Coordinator supports Shelton School District’s Strategic Plan and Shelton High School's School Improvement Plan by promoting student success through the proactive coordination of academic interventions, alternative placements, credit recovery, and testing. This position serves as a key liaison between students, families, staff, and external partners to ensure that all students receive the support they need to meet academic and graduation requirements.

Requirements

Valid Washington State Teaching Certificate.

Essential Functions

Serves as the point of contact for alternative education placements, including coordination with district programs, families, and school staff.
Monitors student progress in alternative settings and supports transitions back to the comprehensive school setting when appropriate.
Ensures compliance with District and State guidelines for alternative placements.
Plans, organizes, and oversees the administration of State and District assessments including training staff, maintaining testing security, and managing testing materials.
Maintains accurate and secure testing records in accordance with State and District policies.
Leads and coordinates Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) processes, including facilitating meetings, tracking student interventions, and analyzing data.
Collaborates with other teachers, counselors, and support staff to implement tiered interventions that address academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs.
Supports students in meeting graduation requirements by reviewing transcripts, identifying credit deficiencies, and creating individualized graduation plans.
Collaborates with counselors and administrators to ensure students are on track for graduation and post-secondary success.
Develops and manages after-school tutoring programs, including staffing, scheduling, communicating with families, and monitoring student participation.
Uses student performance data to align tutoring services with academic needs and evaluate program effectiveness.
Assists students in accessing and navigating credit recovery options to help them stay on track for graduation.
Monitors student progress in credit recovery programs and provides support as needed.
Collaborate with teachers and counselors to ensure credit recovery aligns with students’ academic plans.
Develops and maintains positive, professional relationships with students, other staff, families, and administrators.
Advises families of student progress.
Directs para educators, volunteers, and/or student aides for the purpose of providing an effective school program and addressing the needs of individual students.
Monitors student activities for the purpose of providing a safe and optimal learning environment.
Reports incidents as appropriate for the purpose of maintaining personal safety of students, providing a positive learning environment, and adhering to education code, district, and/or school policies.
Participates in various meetings (e.g., family conferences, in-service training, site meetings, etc.) for the purpose of receiving and/or providing information and/or meeting credential requirements.
Attends meetings and professional development trainings as appropriate or directed.
Maintains confidentiality and tact in all aspects of employment.
Maintains a positive attitude and views students with an asset-based approach.
Supports the District’s Strategic Plan and Shelton High School's School Improvement Plan.
Abides by all District Policies and Procedures as well as all applicable statutes and guidelines.
