As the Supervisor, you will report to the executive director and be a part of the Student and Family Services Division and leadership team.

The Supervisor will lead the complex work of Student Health Services; including provision of specialized health services and mandated health services,, clinical support for school based nurses, coordinating with Non Public Agencies providing specialized health services, and leading the central nursing team and health workers. They will work closely with other divisional leaders to ensure that students and families are centered in these processes and they understand their rights and responsibilities. They will work closely with other departments and schools to ensure processes are followed and staff are trained to follow all health mandates, district policies and procedures. The Supervisor will oversee all documentation and data management for the health services work and complete all reporting responsibilities. They will help lead cross divisional work whenever necessary.

Essential Duties

● Co-Manage and Oversee Health Services Team

● Support SFUSD School District Nurses and Implementation of Nursing Cohort Model

● Leads complex work requiring advanced knowledge of a specific professional discipline or operational area

● Select, train, supervise and evaluate administrative, certificated and classified employees

● Leads one or more components/functions of work within the department/division

● Manages direct reports who may in turn manage others

● Oversee grant and/or budget development, monitoring and management

● Oversee and facilitate the use of data and data strategies towards continuous improvement

● Provide broad levels of stakeholder engagement and support to diverse audiences

● Makes autonomous decisions related to scope and direction (e.g. resource allocation, staffing, etc.) in addition to design and execution

● Sets the direction for a function and supports departmental management

● Other leadership responsibilities within classification as assigned by the executive team

Minimum Qualifications

Valid California Administrative Services Credential or eligibility for a California Administrative Services Credential
One (1) year of administrative experience as a Central Office Administrator or Site Leader

The strongest candidates will have:

● Nursing or Health related background or experience supporting these type of services

● Knowledge of San Francisco’s public schools/urban public schools and a passionate belief in SFUSD’s commitment to instructional leadership as a lever toward delivering on the SFUSD Graduate Profile

● Strong analytics and systems thinking necessary to interpret data to inform goals and strategy, as well as build infrastructure where none exists

● Ability to work effectively across multiple functions and roles within a complex organization

● A proven record of effectively planning, organizing and using resources to take action and achieve goals

● The ability to learn quickly and adapt as needed in a fast-paced environment

● Outstanding organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail

● A flexible, “can do” work ethic with a focus on identifying challenges and proactively working to find solutions while maintaining a bigger picture lens and focus on what can be delivered instead of what cannot be done

● Excellent data analysis skills and experience synthesizing data to drive action steps

● Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with senior level district staff and colleagues

● Effective written and verbal communication and the ability to clearly communicate complex, bureaucratic processes to a variety of audiences

● Ability to define and implement effective HR business practices

● Ability to work effectively in difficult situations that involve confidential and sensitive matters

● Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and GSuite (Google Docs, Slides, Sheets, Forms)
