Position Summary:

The Reed City Middle School is seeking a committed and compassionate Math Intervention Paraprofessional to join our team. This 31a-funded position is designed to support students identified as at-risk of not meeting grade-level expectations in mathematics. The paraprofessional will provide supplemental math instruction under the guidance of certified teachers, focusing on targeted, data-driven interventions. This role is essential in helping students build confidence, close achievement gaps, and improve math outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver supplemental, evidence-based math interventions to at-risk students in one-on-one or small group settings, under the supervision of a certified teacher.
Use school-wide data and progress monitoring tools to help identify students in need of additional math support.
Implement intervention strategies aligned with the school improvement plan and based on students' academic needs.
Collaborate with math teachers and intervention teams to plan, deliver, and adjust intervention lessons.
Track student progress through data collection and contribute to team discussions about instructional next steps.
Foster a positive and supportive environment that promotes student engagement and persistence in math learning.
Maintain accurate and confidential documentation of student intervention sessions and outcomes in accordance with 31a requirements.
Participate in professional development related to instructional strategies, intervention delivery, and 31a compliance.
Assist with the preparation and organization of math intervention materials and resources.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required; 60 credit hours or associate’s degree or higher, or passage of the paraprofessional assessment required.
Experience working in educational settings with at-risk students, particularly in math intervention or tutoring, is strongly preferred.
Strong foundational knowledge of middle school math concepts and the ability to explain them clearly and accessibly.
Basic proficiency with technology tools for instruction and data tracking.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to state and district policies regarding 31a program implementation

Funding Compliance:

This position is fully funded by Michigan 31a At-Risk funds and is contingent upon continued availability of these funds. The teacher must provide direct instructional support to eligible students and maintain documentation in accordance with 31a compliance requirements.
