Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Special Education Aide at Perry Co Central High School. The successful candidate will work closely with students with diverse learning needs, providing support and assistance in both academic and social settings. This role requires a commitment to fostering an inclusive environment that promotes the educational and personal growth of each student.

Responsibilities
- Assist special education teachers in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students.
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students in the classroom, helping them to understand and complete assignments.
- Monitor student progress and behavior, providing feedback to teachers and parents as needed.
- Support students during transitions between classes, lunch, and other activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to create a positive learning environment.
- Help with the preparation of instructional materials and classroom resources.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in special education.
- Assist with the implementation of behavioral intervention plans and strategies.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding student information and adhere to school policies and regulations.

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in special education or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience working with students with disabilities or in a special education setting is an advantage.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, teachers, and parents.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to support students in their learning journey.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and follow directions from supervising teachers.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with educational technology.
- Willingness to participate in ongoing training and professional development.
- Must pass background checks and comply with school district requirements.
