SUMMARY: Under the direction and supervision of the Principal, the Parchment School District is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Long-Term Substitute Teacher for Middle School Home Economics. This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact while supporting students in essential life skills and academic growth. This role focuses on teaching essential life skills, health, and home economics, preparing students to make informed decisions about their well-being, relationships, finances, nutrition, and overall lifestyle.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Valid Michigan teaching license or substitute certificate
Preferred Endorsements:
- FAMILY AND CONSUMER SCIENCES (KH) K–12
- CTE – FAMILY AND CONSUMER SCIENCES (19.0000)

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Deliver engaging and age-appropriate instruction in Home Economics, Life Skills and Health to middle school students.
Follow existing curriculum and adapt lesson plans as needed.
Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
Manage classroom behavior in accordance with school policies.
Maintain regular communication with students, parents, and staff.
Participate in school meetings and professional collaboration as needed.
