Supervisor: Principal / Director of Buildings and Grounds
Rate of Pay: $15.00 per hour
Work Year: 4 hrs/day (existing employee) from 6 a.m. - 10 a.m. on school days
This is a long-term substitute assignment beginning on or about December 10 through March 10, 2025
Summary: Under general supervision, transports materials and supplies throughout district buildings as scheduled by the Director/Assistant Director of Buildings and Grounds, performs incidental custodial duties as assigned.
Qualifications / Experience
- High school diploma/GED or a minimum of one year of related experience.
- Possess a valid driver’s license.
- Knowledge/experience with basic methods, materials, and equipment used in custodial work.
- Exhibits the ability to abide by all necessary safety precautions and procedures.
- Understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
- Ability to lift up to 100 lbs.
- Possesses basic computer skills to check emails and work tickets.
- Attention to detail.
- Access to reliable transportation.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff and the community.
- Ability to work independently or as a team.
Responsibilities
- Pick up and deliver inter-district mail in accordance with established schedules.
- Maintain food storage areas (dry, freezers, coolers) in a neat and orderly manner.
- Assist the Food Service Director with the pick-up and delivery of commodities, supplies and prepared lunches.
- Possess communication skills for relating to colleagues and others, including an appropriate attitude to insure a cordial working environment.
- Perform other related tasks when assigned.
PHYSICAL ABILITIES AND WORKING CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
- Vision: (which may be corrected) clarity of vision at 20 inches or less to 20 feet or more and peripheral vision.
- Hearing: (which may be corrected) to hear, understand and distinguish speech and/or other sounds in-person, telephone, radio, and other sounds.
- Speech: to be understood in face-to-face communications; to speak with a level of proficiency and volume to be understood in-person, over radio and telephone.
- Upper Body Mobility: use hands and fingers to feel, grasp, and manipulate small objects; manipulate fingers, twist and bend at wrist and elbow; extend arms to reach outward and upward; use hands and arms to lift objects; turn, raise, and lower head.
- Lower Body Mobility: to bend at waist; stoop; twist and turn torso.
- Strength: to lift, push, pull and/or carry objects that weigh as much as 50 pounds on a frequent basis with an infrequent need to lift up to 100 pounds.
- Environmental Requirements: be exposed to harsh chemicals, work alone, work both inside and outside as a primary assignment.
- Mental Requirements: to read and write English at a simple level; learn quickly and follow verbal procedures; follow a schedule, and perform duties without constant supervision.
