Position: Girls on the Run Coach

Muskegon Public Schools anticipates six (6) Coach positions openings for the Elementary Schools. One (1) at Bunker, two (2) at Glenside, one (1) at Marquette, and two (2) at Oakview. Each Coach will support an after-school program for identified at-risk girls to support successful completion of core academics and drop-out prevention. Participants will train and compete in a non-competitive 5K event.

The program will begin mid-February and consists of 90 minute practices twice a week for 10 weeks. The mandatory 5k celebration event is scheduled for Saturday, May 10, 2025 at Heritage Landing!

Program Start Date: January 2025 – May 2025 10 week program (30 hours) and training & meetings (5-10 hours)

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent

• Must be at least 18 years old

• Running experience not required

• CPR and First Aid certified (training provided)

• Attend Girls on the Run coach training

Responsibilities:

• See attached job description

• Serve as a role model for program participants

• Participate in the Celebration 5k event

Terms:

$31.21 per hour (up to 40 hours total); Temporary grant-funded position
