Position Description

Reimagine Education, LLC is seeking an educational innovator to provide instruction in our online School Of The Arts. Our Secondary Music/Vocal Instructor will be responsible for teaching our voice class and providing 1on1 voice lessons, teach our world music drumming class, and provide 1on1 private lessons for our Beginning Piano class students. This position is part of a pioneering team that is creating an innovative, all encompassing online Arts program that draws out creative potential in all students in the areas of Music, Art, and Theater. The position will report directly to the Director of the Arts.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Music; Master’s degree preferred
Possess a Michigan teaching certificate for Music Education (JQ) or Music (JX)
Possess the training and skill to constructively work with young musicians to develop their skill and passion for music performance
Minimum 5 years experience of teaching voice students
Online teaching experience preferred
Ability to play piano at a competent level
Proven ability to effectively draw out students love of music and their desire to discover creative potential
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks in an effective manner
Customer service oriented
Personable and positive attitude
Passion for helping families and students succeed
Ability to develop and maintain a positive, productive rapport with people from diverse backgrounds
High intrapersonal and interpersonal qualities that foster effective collaboration skills

Essential Duties

Serve as instructor for the following courses: MS & HS Vocal Techniques, MS & HS World Music Drumming.
Provide online private 1on1 music lessons for voice students and Beginning Piano students following our established curriculum.
Develop and maintain a positive, productive rapport with parents/guardians, students, and all MIPS staff that leads to trusting relationships.
Effectively communicate with school administrators, teachers, other MIPS staff, parents and students using email, text messaging, phone, and video calls.
Effectively and consistently collaborate with MIPS staff and the families being served to improve overall academic and artistic achievement
Provide timely and accurate grading of student assignments.
Be familiar with Voice and Piano curriculum and pacing and appropriately reinforce skills and concepts.
Appropriately modify curriculum, activities, and assignments when needed to meet individual student needs
Establish, maintain, and clearly communicate expectations and guidelines
Provide progress reports weekly to students and parents
Meet with parents, guardians, and home coaches as needed to identify potential obstacles to improved achievement
Maintain a detailed historical record of communication and meetings with students, parents, guardians, and home coaches
Maintain a variety of confidential and non-confidential digital files and records
Embrace learning of the knowledge and skills associated with new technology hardware and software
Be informed of all policies and procedures
Carry out other duties and obligations as assigned to facilitate the school’s mission, goals, standards, and education program
Employee must honor written Board Policies and Administrative Regulations
Employee must be able to stand for a minimum of 30 minutes at a time
Employee must be able to lift 25lbs able to sit in chair for long intervals
