Position Description

Reimagine Education, LLC is seeking an educational innovator to provide private piano lessons. Our Private Piano Instructor will be part of a pioneering team that is creating an innovative, all encompassing online Arts program that draws out creative potential in all students in the areas of Music, Art, and Theater. The position will report directly to the Director of the Arts.

Possess the training and skill to constructively work with young musicians to develop their piano skill and passion for music
Ability to play piano at a competent level

Essential Duties

Develop and maintain a positive, productive rapport with parents/guardians, students, and all MIPS staff that leads to trusting relationships.
Effectively communicate with school administrators, teachers, other MIPS staff, parents and students using email, text messaging, phone, and video calls.
Effectively and consistently collaborate with MIPS staff and the families being served to improve overall academic and artistic achievement
Provide 20 minute weekly piano lessons on Google Meet for piano students. Lessons should include exercises, sight reading coaching/assessment, constructive guidance in development of piano technique, presentation, and artistry on student selected repertoire.
Provide timely and accurate grading of sight reading and private lesson grading.
Be familiar with Piano curriculum and pacing and appropriately reinforce skills and concepts.
Appropriately modify curriculum, activities, and assignments when needed to meet individual student needs
Establish, maintain, and clearly communicate expectations and guidelines
Provide progress reports weekly to students and parents
Meet with parents, guardians, and home coaches as needed to identify potential obstacles to improved achievement
Maintain a detailed historical record of communication and meetings with students, parents, guardians, and home coaches
Maintain a variety of confidential and non-confidential digital files and records
Embrace learning of the knowledge and skills associated with new technology hardware and software
Be informed of all policies and procedures
Carry out other duties and obligations as assigned to facilitate the school’s mission, goals, standards, and education program
Employee must honor written Board Policies and Administrative Regulations
Employee must be able to stand for a minimum of 30 minutes at a time
Employee must be able to lift 25lbs able to sit in chair for long intervals
