Livingston Public Schools is currently accepting applications for Playground Aides at multiple schools. This hourly position is employed during the school year, typically for 10-15 hours per week during the middle of the school day. This position is not benefit eligible. If a Livingston parent is interested, they are eligible to work at any school other than the one their child attends.

Job Goal: To promote safe play during recess and minimize the risk of injury on the playground.

Responsibilities:

Supervise students in the cafeteria and on the playground during lunch and recess periods.
Ensure the safety and well-being of all students while they play.
Maintain visibility around the playground and assist with conflict resolution among students.
Set up and clean up recess equipment.
Report unsafe or unsanitary playground conditions to the principal.
Ensure age-appropriate use of playground equipment.
Accompany students outdoors for recess in varying weather conditions (as long as temperature is above 25°F and weather is clear.

Qualifications:

High school graduate.
Ability to interact positively with students.
Knowledge of first aid and emergency procedures.
Ability to understand and relay policies regarding playground equipment use.

Physical Demands:

Light lifting (up to 15 lbs.).
Ability to climb stairs and move playground equipment.
Ability to stand and circulate for up to 2 hours.
