Grapeland Junior High School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Junior High ELAR & Technology Teacher. This full-time position is designed for a passionate educator who is committed to fostering a positive learning environment and integrating technology into the English Language Arts curriculum. The ideal candidate will inspire students to develop their literacy skills while embracing innovative teaching methods and technology tools.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans for English Language Arts that meet curriculum standards and cater to diverse learning styles.
- Integrate technology into the classroom to enhance student learning and engagement, utilizing tools such as educational software, online resources, and digital platforms.
- Assess and evaluate student progress through various methods, including tests, projects, and presentations, providing timely feedback to support their growth.
- Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation, collaboration, and critical thinking.
- Collaborate with fellow educators and staff to develop interdisciplinary projects and initiatives that promote literacy and technology skills.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student progress, classroom activities, and school events.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in teaching, technology integration, and curriculum development.
- Uphold school policies and contribute to a positive school culture through active involvement in school events and activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification in English Language Arts for junior high or middle school.
- Knowledge of technology integration in the classroom and familiarity with educational software and tools.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Passion for teaching and a commitment to fostering a love of reading and writing in students.
- Willingness to collaborate with colleagues and participate in ongoing professional development.
- Previous teaching experience in a junior high or middle school setting is preferred but not required.
Salary Range: Based on experience
Benefits: BCBS TRS-Active Care Health Insurance. $150/month paid by the district and $75/month paid by the State of Texas
