Position Overview

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated High School Chemistry Teacher to join our faculty. The ideal candidate will create engaging lesson plans, conduct lab experiments, and facilitate critical thinking and scientific inquiry. The HS Chemistry Teacher also fosters curiosity about the natural world and prepares students for further scientific study or careers in STEM fields, with an emphasis in Chemistry.

Essential Characteristics

● Active Christian and local church member

● Demonstrates a heart for Jesus Christ: “I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified.” I Corinthians 2:2

● Demonstrates personal character: “In everything, set them an example by doing what is good. In your teaching show integrity, seriousness and soundness of speech…” Titus 2:7-8

● Demonstrates passion for excellence worthy of Christ: Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord…” Colossians 3:23

● Exemplifies a Christ-like attitude in both written and verbal communication

● Ministers and prays with others; communicates the love of Jesus to further the mission of the School. Attend, participate, and lead faculty devotions and Chapel on a rotating basis

● Approachable, with an appropriate balance of high expectations, patience, and mentorship

● A team-player who is willing to listen to the ideas, concerns, and solutions of others

● Knowledgeable and competent in areas of safe school culture necessary to support school’s mission
