JOB SUMMARY

The ASP Remedial Specialist assesses and evaluates achievement level of students recommended for service; develops an educational plan for each student/group; provides supplemental instruction to students; and maintains student records.

QUALIFICATIONS

Valid Ohio State Board of Education elementary or secondary teaching license
Prior classroom experience preferred

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES

Knowledge of nonpublic school policies and procedures

Knowledge of Ohio laws and regulations governing the Auxiliary Services Program

Knowledge of FERPA and HIPPA

Knowledge of current educational issues and best practices

Knowledge of effective intervention strategies

Ability to use technology as both a productivity tool and as a method of communication; proficient in computer applications (e.g. Microsoft Office, Google Docs)

Ability to maintain student records

Ability to analyze and interpret testing data

Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing

Ability to maintain confidentiality

Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, administrators, and public

Ability to model ethical principles and democratic ideals for students and the community
