The position of a Pre-Kinder Bilingual Instructional Assistant will be available at East Central ISD for the 2025-2026 school year. POSITION FUNCTION/PURPOSE: Assist Bilingual and/or ESL teachers in preparation and management of the classroom environment, and instructional support. Work under the supervision of a certified teacher and campus administrator.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Assist teacher in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays.
Assist with administration and scoring of objective testing instruments or work assignments.
Help maintain a neat and orderly classroom.
Help with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment.
Help teachers keep administrative records and prepare required reports.
Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers.
Conduct instructional exercises assigned by the teacher; work with individual students or small groups.
Help supervise students throughout the school day, inside, and outside the classroom. This includes the lunchroom, bus, and outside duty.
Keep the teacher informed of the special needs or problems of individual students.
Participate in staff development on sheltered instruction, and language acquisition strategies, and other training to improve job performance.
Have regular attendance.
Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of responsibility and requirements of the supplemental position.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Educational/Certification:
High school graduate or equivalent
Must have one of the following:

48 college hours with some emphasis on child growth or development or related area
Treasuring our Paraprofessionals certificate

Educational Aide Certificate
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Demonstrate strong organizational, communication, collaborative, and interpersonal skills
Perform duties with minimum supervision
Be fluent in English and Spanish, both orally and in writing

EQUIPMENT USED: Standard office equipment including computer and peripherals, standard instructional equipment
