Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cafeteria Manager to oversee the daily operations of the cafeteria at Joshua Tree Elementary School. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that students receive nutritious meals in a safe and welcoming environment. This role involves managing staff, coordinating food service activities, and maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations while fostering a positive atmosphere for students and staff alike.

Responsibilities
- Plan and prepare nutritious meals in accordance with federal and state guidelines.
- Supervise and train cafeteria staff, ensuring efficient service and adherence to food safety standards.
- Manage inventory, including ordering supplies, tracking usage, and minimizing waste.
- Develop and implement menus that meet dietary needs and preferences of students.
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas.
- Maintain accurate records of food production, inventory, and staff schedules.
- Collaborate with school administration to promote healthy eating initiatives and programs.
- Address and resolve any issues or concerns related to food service operations.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal health and safety regulations.
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment for students during meal service.

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; culinary or food service management certification preferred.
- Previous experience in food service management, preferably in a school setting.
- Strong knowledge of nutrition, food safety, and sanitation practices.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage a diverse team.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Proficient in basic computer skills, including inventory management software.
