Summary
We are seeking passionate and dedicated Classroom Teachers for Grades 3 through 5 at Greyhound Intermediate School. The ideal candidate will create a positive and engaging learning environment that fosters student growth, encourages creativity, and promotes academic excellence. This full-time position requires a commitment to student success and collaboration with colleagues, parents, and the community.

POSITION: Classroom Teacher - Grades 3 through 5

BUILDING: Greyhound Intermediate School

DATE OF AVAILABILITY: August 2025

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Must possess a valid Michigan elementary teaching certificate

2. Knowledge of and commitment to best practices as supported by current research to teach the District’s adopted curriculum; willingness to attend workshops to strengthen skills

3. Experience and expertise with differentiated and data based small group instruction; knowledge of Michigan’s Literacy Essentials practices for grades 3-5; able to apply research based instructional practices in vocabulary, fluency, word study, comprehension and phonemic awareness

4. Knowledge of Michigan’s Essential Instructional Practices in Mathematics

5. Must support and participate in the schools’ efforts to create a positive school climate and promote appropriate student behavior

6. Must support inclusionary classroom practices, be willing to work with special needs students, special education co-teacher, and assigned aides

7. Ability to integrate technology into the curriculum

8. Excellent classroom management skills

9. Ability to use assessments and student data to drive meaningful instruction

10. Committed to working in a high profile school and being a part of a professional learning community

11. Willingness to maintain/facilitate frequent conversations/communication with parents outside of the designated Parent/Teacher Conferences

12. Keep informed of and comply with state, district, and school regulations and policies for teachers

13. Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents required
