Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to support the educational development of young children in a nurturing and stimulating environment. The Assistant Educator will work closely with lead educators to implement engaging activities, foster positive relationships, and provide individualized attention to each child. This part-time position is ideal for someone who is enthusiastic about early childhood education and is committed to promoting a love of learning.

POSITION: Assistant Educator of Young Children

BUILDING: Greyhound Central Elementary (Before and After School Care) and/or Greyhound Intermediate School (Before and After School Care)

DATE OF AVAILABILITY: April 2025

RATE OF PAY: $12.60 Base Rate

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Must meet and adhere to all Michigan State Department of Human Services requirements

2. Must be able to relate well with young children

3. Must work well with other staff members in a cooperative and professional manner

4. Must follow child care discipline policy

5. Good work ethic and excellent attendance record required

6. Ability to follow directives as assigned by supervisors

7. Maintain current CPR and First Aid certifications

8 Must treat each child, parent, colleagues with dignity and respect

DUTIES:

1. Under the direction of the teacher, will assist in preparing instructional materials for use by students, while assisting individuals and small groups with learning activities providing classroom support as needed
