Job Description

Title: LEP Support Staff (Northeast Great Start to Quality Resource Center)

Summary: The intent of this program is to help License Exempt Providers (LEPs) to attain the Orientation training needed to prepare them for providing child care for a friend, neighbor, or family member. We support the LEP child care providers with attaining CPR/First Aid and also help connect them with training and resources that are available to them in order to provide high quality child care to the families they serve.


Qualifications:

1. LEPPT (Orientation)Trainer certification-must be attained after hiring.

2. Possession of a valid Michigan driver's license.

3. Associate's Degree in Early Childhood desired, but not mandatory.

4. Excellent interpersonal skills as well as written and oral communication skills.

5. Basic computer skills including Google, Word, Excel, Zoom, Canva, etc.

6. ASHI CPR/First Aid trainer status- must be attained after hiring.



Reports To: Helen Shastal

Responsibilities:

Acquires and maintains LEPPT trainer status/ASHI CPR/FIRST AID trainer status.

Develop and maintain relationships with LEPs to support them with any needs they may have to remove barriers of services and to connect them with resources in the community and our Lending Library.

Attend staff meetings to engage in overlapping work with the NE Great Start to Quality (GSTQ) team.

Attend Technical Assistance training located out of our area (Lansing) to keep trainer status current.

Assumes responsibility for newsletters, communications, and social media posts for LEPs.

Facilitate monthly LEPPT training events virtually and sometimes in person.

Enter training and attendance data into the MiRegistry system.

Deliver resources to LEPs at the location where they take care of children.

Working Conditions:

Perform duties according to COOR safety and health policies.

In the performance of essential job functions of this position, the individual must:

a. Have an office space that is functional in the home.

b. Be responsible for providing internet in your home office.

c. Have reliable transportation to attend meetings and do parts of our work.


Terms of Employment: 5-6 Hours a week /$15.60 hourly wage

Evaluation: Performance on this job will be evaluated annually as required.
