Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to serve as a 12-Month Secretary in the Child Study Team to fill a recent retirement, effective July 1, 2025. This is a permanent position that will require the candidate to work closely with case managers, teachers, administration and other staff, and will report to the DIrector of Special Services. The ideal candidate should have strong communication skills, be able to work independently, and have a passion for students with special needs. The 12-Month Secretary shall be a member of the District Child Study Team and in that capacity perform such functions as indicated by federal and state regulations and as ascertained by the Board of Education.

Performance Responsibilities:

Type correspondence, reports, and memos using Google
Receives and screens all incoming telephone calls, records messages and refers to the proper party. Responds to requests that do not need professional intervention.
Maintains a schedule of appointments and makes arrangements for conferences and interviews for the Child Study Team with teachers, administration, and parents.
Processes IEPs submitted by case managers
Organizes data for completion of State and Federal special education reports.
Becomes familiar with State and Federal laws and Board of Education policies as they relate to Child Study Team operation in order to respond to requests and inquiries from the public.
Modifies Special Education forms as necessary, to be in compliance with current State and Federal requirements.
Orders and maintains supplies as needed.
Performs such other tasks as assigned by the Director of Special Services or designee.

Requirements:

Proficient in Google workspace, including: Google Docs, Calendar, and Sheets
Knowledge of special education laws and regulations
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
