Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and responsible individual to join our team at the CISD Transportation Department as a School Bus Driver. This role is essential in ensuring the safe and timely transportation of students to and from school and related activities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to student safety, excellent communication skills, and a passion for working with children.

Responsibilities
- Safely operate a school bus to transport students to and from school and various activities.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the bus is in safe operating condition.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving.
- Maintain a clean and organized bus interior.
- Assist students in boarding and disembarking the bus, ensuring their safety at all times.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff regarding transportation schedules and any issues that may arise.
- Report any mechanical issues or safety concerns to the Transportation Department promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of student ridership and any incidents that occur during transportation.
- Attend training sessions and meetings as required by the Transportation Department.
- Follow established policies and procedures to ensure a safe and positive environment for all passengers.

Requirements
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements.
- Clean driving record with no major violations in the past three years.
- Previous experience driving a school bus or similar vehicle is preferred but not required.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with students and parents.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations.
- Physical ability to assist students as needed, including lifting and securing wheelchairs or other mobility devices.
- Flexibility to work early morning and afternoon hours, with occasional additional hours for special events or field trips.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
