Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Leave Replacement ASPIRE Counselor to join our team at Chatham High School. This full-time position is designed for an individual who is committed to supporting students' academic and emotional well-being. The ASPIRE Counselor will work collaboratively with students, staff, and families to foster a positive school environment and promote personal growth, resilience, and academic success.

Responsibilities

Provide individual and group counseling to students, addressing academic, social, emotional, and behavioral concerns.
Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to develop and implement strategies for student support.
Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify students' needs and create tailored intervention plans.
Facilitate workshops and programs that promote social-emotional learning, conflict resolution, and coping skills.
Maintain accurate and confidential student records, documenting counseling sessions and progress.
Assist in crisis intervention and support students in crisis situations, ensuring their safety and well-being.
Advocate for students' needs and connect them with appropriate resources and community services.
Participate in school meetings, committees, and professional development opportunities to enhance counseling practices.
Stay informed about current trends and best practices in school counseling and mental health support.

Requirements

Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, or a related field.
Valid state certification or licensure in school counseling or related discipline.
Previous experience working with high school students in a counseling or educational setting preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, families, and staff.
Knowledge of social-emotional learning principles and mental health resources.
Ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy and confidentiality.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency in using technology and software for documentation and communication.
Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive school environment for all students.

Salary Range: $62,875.00
