Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and responsible individual to join our team as a Custodian for the night shift (2pm-10pm) at Chatham Middle School. This full-time position plays a crucial role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and committed to upholding the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation.

Responsibilities

Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting of classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas.
Ensure all facilities are stocked with necessary supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
Maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of all school facilities, including gymnasiums, cafeterias, and outdoor areas.
Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste in accordance with established procedures.
Assist with the setup and breakdown of furniture and equipment for school events and activities.
Conduct regular inspections of the premises to identify and address maintenance issues or safety hazards.
Report any repairs or maintenance needs to the appropriate personnel.
Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe environment for all.
Collaborate with other custodial staff and school personnel to achieve a high standard of cleanliness and organization.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

Previous custodial or cleaning experience is a plus but not required.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality work.
Good physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects as needed.
Familiarity with cleaning equipment and supplies.
Basic understanding of safety and sanitation procedures.
Flexibility to work night shifts, including weekends and holidays as required.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Background check clearance as required by school district policies.
