Job Summary
We are seeking a Chief Financial Officer to lead our financial operations and drive the financial strategy of our school district. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management, strategic planning, and risk assessment. This role will involve overseeing the financial health of the school district, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing insightful financial analysis to support decision-making at the executive level.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement financial strategies that align with the organization's goals and objectives.
- Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and financial analysis.
- Manage relationships with financial institutions, auditors, and regulatory agencies.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards, maintaining the integrity of financial reporting.
- Lead the business office team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and professional development.
- Prepare and present financial reports to the superintendent and board of education, highlighting key metrics and trends.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks, implementing effective controls and processes.
- Collaborate with other departments to support strategic initiatives and drive operational efficiency.
- Monitor industry trends and economic conditions to inform financial planning and investment strategies.
- Oversee cash flow management and capital allocation to optimize financial performance. - Be willing to learn Federal Programs regulations and guidelines and complete reporting. - All other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. - Master’s degree in Education Leadership, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field preferred but not required.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in financial management preferred.
- Knowledge of financial regulations, compliance, and reporting standards.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data.
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities, with a focus on mentorship and development.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
- High level of integrity and professionalism, with a commitment to ethical financial practices.
