Job Related Duties & Responsibilities:

Before school shift : 5:45 a.m. - 8:15 a.m. After school shift: Dismissal - 6:15 p.m.

Reporting to the Program Coordinator and Director, maintain a safe and healthy environment and provide care and supervision for children enrolled in the Beyond the Bell child care program.

Demonstrate the skill and competence necessary to contribute to each child's physical, intellectual, personal, emotional, and social development.
Demonstrate skill and competence necessary to assume direct responsibility for child care including:
- Skills to help children meet their developmental and emotional needs; and
- Skills in planning, directing, and conducting programs that meet the children's basic needs.
Shall be willing to participate in activities leading to professional growth in child development and education, and in training related to the specific needs of the children served.
Work with the coordinator to plan developmentally appropriate activities in alignment with DCFS school-age child care program requirements and responsible for supervision of children.
Responsible for supervising persons assigned to assist their group who are not similarly qualified (i.e. childcare assistants).
Maintain a safe environment for children with active supervision, schedules, routines, and positive behavior techniques.
Shall be aware of the whereabouts of each child at all times and shall regularly monitor all children.
Professional communication with supervisors, colleagues, and families.
Other job related duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

At least 19 years of age.
High school diploma or equivalency certificate (GED).
Experience in childcare setting preferred
