Summary:
The Work Based Learning Coordinator at Albany Area High School plays a vital role in facilitating and overseeing work-based learning opportunities for students. This part-time position (0.4 FTE) is responsible for developing partnerships with local businesses and organizations, coordinating internships and job shadowing experiences, and ensuring that students gain valuable real-world skills that complement their academic education. The ideal candidate will be passionate about student development, possess strong communication skills, and have a commitment to fostering a collaborative learning environment.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain partnerships with local businesses, organizations, and community members to create work-based learning opportunities for students.
- Coordinate and oversee internship, job shadowing, and other experiential learning programs for students.
- Work closely with students to identify their career interests and guide them in securing placements that align with their goals.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress during work-based learning experiences, providing feedback and support as needed.
- Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and administrators to integrate work-based learning into the school curriculum.
- Organize workshops, presentations, and events that promote work-based learning and career readiness skills.
- Maintain accurate records of student placements, progress, and feedback from employers.
- Stay updated on labor market trends and educational best practices related to work-based learning.
- Advocate for work-based learning initiatives within the school and the broader community.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in education.

- Vocational CTE certification for Work Based Learning.
- Previous experience in education, career counseling, or workforce development preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with students, parents, and community partners.
- Knowledge of local labor market trends and workforce development resources.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for travel to business sites and community events.

Salary Range:

$43,836 - $82,127
The salary range is based on the 2024-2025 school year union contract; these amounts will be subject to change/increase once the new contract is settled.
