Position Summary

USD 243 Lebo-Waverly is seeking a dedicated and visionary leader to serve as the Principal of Waverly Grade School. This individual will be responsible for fostering a positive school culture, ensuring high academic standards, and supporting students, staff, and families in a collaborative environment. The principal will lead instructional efforts, oversee daily operations, and work closely with district administration to advance the mission and vision of USD 243.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide strong instructional leadership to improve student achievement and support professional development for staff.
Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe school environment that supports student
learning and social-emotional well-being.
Supervise and evaluate teachers and staff, ensuring high-quality instruction and
professional growth.
Implement district policies, state and federal regulations, and school
improvement initiatives.
Manage school operations, including budgeting, scheduling, student discipline and parent/community engagement.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Required: Master’s degree in Educational Administration or a related field.
Required: Valid Kansas Building Leadership License (or eligibility to obtain one).
Minimum of three years of teaching experience (administrative experience preferred).
Demonstrated leadership ability with a strong focus on student achievement and staff development.
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Experience with curriculum development, instructional best practices, and school improvement planning.
Ability to collaborate effectively with students, staff, parents, and community members.
Knowledge of Kansas educational policies, laws, and accreditation requirements.
