We are seeking a passionate and dedicated High School Social Studies Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will create an engaging curriculum that enhances students' understanding of history, government, and other social sciences while fostering analytical and civic-minded skills.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with Michigan state standards.
Teach courses such as U.S. History, World History, Government, and Economics.
Encourage critical thinking, discussion, and inquiry-based learning.
Assess and monitor student progress through various evaluation methods.
Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Collaborate with colleagues to align curriculum and share best practices
Must Possess excellent communication skills when engaging with students, parents, and colleagues.
Participate in school and district professional development
Uphold the mission and vision of Swartz Creek Community Schools
Must possess the mental/physical ability and stamina for meeting the requirements of the position
Punctual, regular, & consistent attendance is required.
Integrate technology and innovative teaching strategies into instruction.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Education, History, Political Science, or a related field.
Michigan Teaching Certification with endorsement in Social Studies (or ability to obtain certification).
Experience teaching high school students is preferred.
Strong communication and classroom management skills.
