Swartz Creek Community Schools is seeking a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Freshman Volleyball Head Coach to lead and mentor our incoming high school athletes. This coach will play a key role in developing fundamental skills, preparing players for varsity-level competition, and fostering a team culture grounded in respect, accountability, and growth.

Qualifications & Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent (prior coaching or competitive playing experience strongly preferred).
Strong understanding of volleyball fundamentals, team dynamics, and game strategy.
Proven ability to work with high school student-athletes and support their academic and athletic development.
Must meet MHSAA and district coaching requirements, including:
- CPR/First Aid Certification
- Concussion Awareness Training
- NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching Course
- Bloodborne Pathogens Training
Successful completion of district-required background checks and fingerprinting.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and lead practices focused on building individual and team skills.
Prepare athletes for the demands of upper-level competition in a supportive and structured environment.
Promote sportsmanship, effort, and academic responsibility.
Communicate clearly with athletes, families, and staff, and coordinate with JV and Varsity coaches.
Represent Swartz Creek with professionalism and school spirit at all events.
Willingness to implement the Varsity Head Coaches direction for the Program. Including mission, vision, play-calling or style, and teaching of fundamentals for this program.
