Special Services Student Support Professional
Support Staff
Hours: 29.75 hrs/week
Qualifications: Must have a degree OR 60 credit hours from an accredited college or university OR have taken or will take and pass the ETS Parapro test before being hired.
Job Functions: The SSSP works with students who have specific disabilities and may require assistance with medical, behavior, or academic support. The SSSP works individually with students also with teachers and administrators.
●Work closely with students who have disabilities and or are at-risk, which may include but is not limited to medical needs, academic needs, or behavior needs
●Work closely with students who are at-risk, particularly in Literacy/ELA, and Math, and in emotionally healthy coping skills
●Restorative Practice and CPI training are mandatory
●Other academic and behavior support duties as assigned
●Assist in the development of PBIS support structures
●Work directly with students in executing enrichment lessons and academic interventions
●Takes guidance from the Principal and Resource Teacher to ensure students are supported and to instill positive student behavior
●Punctual, regular, & consistent attendance is required
