Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to join our team at Shoal Creek Elementary. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and ensuring compliance with established financial policies and procedures. This full-time position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and a commitment to supporting the financial health of our educational institution.

Responsibilities
- Maintain and update financial records, including ledgers, journals, and bank statements.
- Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate payments and collections.
- Prepare and reconcile monthly financial statements and reports.
- Assist in budget preparation and monitoring of expenditures against budgetary constraints.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations and reporting requirements.
- Manage payroll processing, including calculating hours, deductions, and issuing paychecks.
- Support audits by providing necessary documentation and responding to inquiries.
- Maintain organized financial filing systems for easy retrieval of documents.
- Collaborate with school administration to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by school leadership.

Requirements
- Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar financial role.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial data management.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with staff and stakeholders.
- Knowledge of school finance regulations and practices is a plus.
- Certifications such as Certified Bookkeeper (CB) or similar are advantageous.
