Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Library Media Specialist to join our team at Locust Grove Primary. This full-time position is designed for an individual who is committed to fostering a love of reading and learning in young students. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in enhancing the educational experience by providing access to a variety of resources, promoting literacy, and integrating technology into the curriculum.

Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive library program that supports the educational goals of Locust Grove Primary.
- Curate and maintain a diverse collection of books, media, and digital resources suitable for primary-aged students.
- Collaborate with teachers to integrate library resources and technology into classroom instruction.
- Provide instruction on information literacy, research skills, and the effective use of library resources.
- Organize and conduct engaging programs and activities that promote reading and literacy among students.
- Assist students in selecting appropriate materials for their interests and academic needs.
- Maintain an organized and welcoming library environment that encourages exploration and discovery.
- Stay current with trends in library science, education technology, and children's literature.
- Manage library budgets, inventory, and records efficiently.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to promote library services and resources.

Requirements
- Master’s degree in Library Science, Information Science, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Valid state certification as a school librarian or media specialist.
- Experience working in a school library or educational setting is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of children's literature and age-appropriate resources.
- Proficiency in using library management software and technology tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire young learners.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
