Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate educator to join our faculty at Orange County High to teach Economics and Personal Finance. The ideal candidate will inspire students to understand economic principles, financial literacy, and the importance of personal finance management. This full-time position offers an opportunity to shape students’ understanding of the economic landscape and equip them with essential life skills for their future.

Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with state standards for Economics and Personal Finance.
- Assess student performance through various evaluation methods, including tests, projects, and presentations.
- Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages student participation and critical thinking.
- Stay updated on current economic trends and integrate real-world applications into the curriculum.
- Collaborate with other educators to create interdisciplinary projects and initiatives.
- Communicate regularly with students, parents, and staff regarding student progress and classroom activities.
- Organize and facilitate extracurricular activities related to economics and finance, such as clubs or workshops.
- Provide support and resources for students to develop their financial literacy skills.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices and stay informed about educational best practices.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and willing to obtain a Virginia Teaching license.
- Valid teaching certification in Economics and Personal Finance or relevant subject area preferred.
- Proven experience teaching high school students, preferably in Economics or Personal Finance.
- Strong knowledge of economic concepts, financial literacy principles, and educational technology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
- Ability to create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and lifelong learning.
