THIS IS A .40 FTE PART-TIME POSITION

The Occupational Therapist as a member of the educational team, supports the education of students suspected of and/or diagnosed with disability in their least restrictive environment. The occupational therapist develops, implements and coordinates an occupational therapy program that includes providing screening, evaluation and interventions services.

Provides direct, indirect, and consultative therapy services to eligible students.
Administers evaluations, writes reports and develops IEPs on students referred and identified for special education services for student’s age birth-21.
Completes all required paperwork within required timelines as provided by regulations. Maintains timely and accurate student records, data and reports.
Maintains timely and accurate student records, data and reports.
Collaborates and communicates effectively with parents and staff.
Participates as a collaborative team member in Child Find, Evaluation, and IEP meetings.
Provides consultation to parents and school staff regarding augmentative devices and assists students in the use of augmentative devices.
Designs and administers treatment programs to increase students’ levels of functioning. Provides therapy and/or consultation for autism spectrum disorders.
Provides therapy and/or consultation for autism spectrum disorders.
Assists with prevocational programming for students age 14-21. Keeps abreast of research and new techniques.
Attends appropriate professional and educational meetings.
Assists in identifying and ordering assistive technology for students in need.
Supervises paraeducators as needed.
Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Valid Washington ESA Certificate in Occupational Therapy
Valid Washington Occupational Therapy License
Prefer training and/or experience in assessment, IEP development and program implementation
Expertise in word processing and willingness to learn the Special Education software system (currently IEP Online)
Sound understanding of regulations governing special education
