Preschool & Assessment Center Services

The position of Supervisor, Preschool & Assessment Center Services, is a unique opportunity for a high energy, knowledgeable, and skilled person enlightened in staff and program supervision, early childhood development and curriculum. This person will play a key role in developing state of the art programming and service delivery for a county wide birth-to-three special needs population and their families.

RESPONSIBLE TO: Director of Preschool & Assessment Center Services

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Master’s Degree or higher required.

2. Full approval as Director or Supervisor of Special Education preferred or willingness to obtain.

3. Successful experience working with special needs students birth-to-three years of age and their families.

4. Knowledge of child development and familiarity with the best practices in assessment, programming and staffing for special needs students birth-to-three years of age.

5. Experience with the day-to-day management and operation of school programs.

6. Knowledge of curriculum design and program development.

7. Knowledge of staff and program evaluation procedures and a variety of staff development strategies.

8. Supervisory experience in coordinating an integrated program for families and children with special needs and interaction with community services and agencies.

9. Evidence of success as an administrative team member.

10. Knowledge of federal and state laws, regulations and procedures affecting special needs students birth-to-three years of age.

11. Knowledge and experience of the school improvement process.

12. Must pass criminal background check as required by School Safety Legislation.

ASSIGNED RESPONSIBILITIES SHALL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO:

1. Assist in the overall planning and operation of the Assessment Center.

2. Primarily responsible for the day-to-day operation of the infant preschool program.

3. Provide leadership for appropriate curriculum design and effective program development.

4. Provide leadership for the school improvement process including school accreditation, if appropriate.

5. Supervision and direction of personnel to provide for appropriate and efficient program operation.

6. Evaluate the performance of staff.

7. Serve as the liaison between the program, local agencies, districts, community and parents in the transition process.

8. Maintain fiscal responsibility of the program budget and other required reports.

9. Responsible for MET, IFSP, IEPC, Transition, and other mandated meetings.

10. Other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or his/her designee for the success of the program.

WORK YEAR: Year round position

START DATE: As soon as possible

SALARY: Commensurate with experience
