Middle School Robotics Coach

* Leads group of six (6) to ten (10) students in at least two (2) competitive (any robotics organization consistent program-wide) robotics events annually

* Assists with any major (beyond single level and/or team) events focused on robotics

* Coordinates parents and volunteers of their team

* Participates in monthly communications between levels (high school, middle school, elementary school) for the purpose of resource management and monitoring student achievement)

* Maintains records of money received and/or spent by Middle School program

* Attends at least 25% of all community events organized by program

* Attends annual sponsor night of High School program with at least three (3) team members

* Functions as mentor to elementary school level coaches via participation upon request from elementary level coaches.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Directly supervises students, volunteers and assigned personnel.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Experience working with students in a diverse, multicultural academic setting is required.
Lifelong learner with a collaborative spirit is required.
Bilingual preferred but not required.
Demonstrated ability to instruct and supervise students is required.
Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills is required.
Demonstrated ability to maintain emotional control under stress.

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory to instructional program; ability to plan and implement lessons based on division and school objectives and the needs and abilities of students to whom assigned. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers and parents; skill in oral and written communication. Ability to work with staff, parents and children.
