Lakeview School District is a comprehensive school of approximately 3,700 students in grades K-12, 500 faculty and support staff members. The district comprises six school buildings, four K-4 elementary schools, one 5-8 middle school, and one high school.

SUMMARY: Responsible for pupil accounting functions across the District. Prepares mandated reports and responds positively to community, parent, student, administrative inquiries concerning student membership.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.

Serves as a resource to all buildings for Pupil Accounting and Clock Hour requirements
In collaboration with building secretaries and principals completes membership claim documentation, providing training as necessary
Serves as a resource for training and consultation to personnel across the District with respect to the Student Information System, specifically as it relates to pupil accounting
Regular dependable attendance is a critical performance factor to ensure consistent, high quality student services
Completes and submits reports to Michigan Student Data System (MSDS) for the Fall, Spring and EOY General Collections, Student Record Maintenance (SRM), Section 25e, Teacher Student Data Link (TSDL), School Infrastructure Database (SID), and Early Roster
In support of staffing decisions across the district, provides reports of School Courses for the Exchange of Data (SCED) codes and teacher certification
Assists Food Service personnel with Direct Certification
Facilitates the assignment and management of Unique Identification Code (UIC) numbers for all students
Works with testing staff to ensure students are reported correctly in MSDS for state assessments
Works with English Language (EL) staff to ensure proper reporting of students in MSDS
Completes Graduation/Dropout Review (GAD)
Maintains the Educational Entity Master (EEM)
Completes and submits all building day and clock hour reports in the EEM
Complete Civil Rights Data Collect (CRDC)
Maintain students entering and exiting Lakeview shared time program
In collaboration with non-public school staff, completes and maintains audit documentation for pupil membership claims through the shared time program
Serves the district as the McKinney-Vento liaison and the Foster Care Liaison
Support in the completion of all required reports for State and Federal Programs.
Serves as a Skyward Key Contact for the District, attending and participating in county, regional, and state level user groups

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred
One to three years of experience in a K-12 office
Experience in pupil accounting preferred
Exceptional computer skills required
Experience with general office machines
Experience with a Student Information System, Skyward strongly preferred

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:

Ability to operate a computer and related software (Microsoft Office Suite, Google Applications, etc…). Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.

MENTAL FUNCTIONS:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, students and parents; skill in oral and written communication.
