La Pryor ISD: High School Ag Mechanics Welding Teacher

Primary Purpose: 

Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society. 

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor's degree from accredited university required or Vocational Trades and Industry with appropriate work approval as identified on the certificate. 

• La Pryor ISD local teaching permit. This assignment requires appropriate work approval. Provide documented work experience in Ag Mechanics per La Pryor ISD guidelines for issuing a local teaching permit. 

• Valid Texas teaching certificate or eligible for alternative certification or local teaching permit. 

• An assignment for Ag Mechanics is allowed with one of the following certificates. 

• Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources: Grades 8-12 

• Agricultural Science and Technology: Grades 8-12 

• Any vocational agriculture certificates • Secondary Industrial Arts: Grades 8-12 

• Secondary Industrial Technology: Grades 8-12 

• Technology Education: Grades 8-12 

• Trade and Industrial Education: 

• Grades 8-12 with appropriate work approval as identified on the certificate 

EXPERIENCE 

• Provide documented work experience in Ag Mechanics per La Pryor ISD guidelines for issuing a local teaching permit 

• Ag Mechanics industry experience (preferred)
