La Pryor ISD – Stronger Connections Case Manager

Primary Purpose:

Supplement and support casework services through the Stronger Connections Grant at both the high school and elementary campuses. Assist in addressing the academic and non-academic needs of students by providing safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environments resulting in improved academic achievement, mental health, behavioral, emotional health, physical health and overall wellbeing of students. Function as part of the pupil services team to formulate plans with the school, student, and parents.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification: Bachelor’s degree in social work from a Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) accredited program Preferred Valid Texas license as a baccalaureate social worker (LBSW) granted by the Texas State Board of Social Worker Examiners

Special Knowledge/Skills: Knowledge of prevention and intervention strategies, including behavior management interventions Knowledge of individual and group counseling skills Knowledge and skill in casework methods Strong consultation skills for conferencing with teachers, parents, and students Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior Ability to present information in one-on-one, small group, and large group situations to students, parents, and district staff

Experience: 3 years social work/case management experience
