2. Position Title: LHS Varsity Assistant Softball Coach

3. Education Required: College Degree and Indiana Teaching License preferred.

4. Previous Experience Required: Experience coaching at the High School Level preferred. Experience playing at the High School or college level Softball. Highly Effective Leadership, Organizational, and Communication skills required. Ability to work well with students, staff members, and community.

5. General Description of Position Duties: Able to build personal and professional relationships with administration, teachers, coaches, players and parents. Prepares, plans, responsible and well organized. Dedicated and concerned about Softball equipment, safety, sharing of athletes, academic progress and participation numbers. Encourages player development at the high school, middle school and youth league level. Provides proper instruction, teaching skills and strategies. Understands financial and budgeting process. Is knowledgeable and has an understanding of coaching and practicing rules and policies governed by the NFHS and IHSAA. Positive role model and motivator.

6. Special Skills, Training or Aptitudes Required or Desired: CPR Certified Preferred. Complete following NFHS online courses: Concussion, Heat Index Safety, Protecting Students from Abuse, Student Mental Health and Suicide Prevention, and Sudden Cardiac Arrest. Will need to meet LCSC certification requirements which includes completing the following Safe School online courses: Blood Pathogen, Child Abuse: Mandatory Reporting & Recognition and Response, Bullying; Recognition & Response, Title IX, and Gang Awareness.
