Status: Full-Time, 10-Month Position
Start Date: 2025–2026 School Year

Job Description:
Seneca Highlands Career and Technical Center is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Welding Instructor. The successful candidate will provide instruction to high school students in areas such as basic and advanced welding processes (SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, FCAW), oxy-fuel cutting, fabrication and layout, blueprint reading, weld symbols, metal preparation, basic metallurgy, and shop safety, including proper use of tools and equipment.

Minimum Qualifications:

● Minimum of four (4) years documented work experience in the welding and/or metal fabrication field.

● Strong knowledge of welding processes, tools, materials, and industry-standard safety practices.

● Ability to manage a lab/shop environment and supervise student projects.

● Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

● PDE Career and Technical Instructional Certification in Welding or related area (or the ability to obtain).

● Current industry certifications (e.g., AWS, OSHA 10/30) or willingness to obtain.

● Experience working with high school students or in an instructional/training setting.

Responsibilities Include:

● Delivering hands-on and theoretical instruction aligned to industry standards, PDE Task Lists, and approved Program of Study requirements.

● Assessing student performance, maintaining accurate records, and contributing to IEP/504 implementation as needed.

● Coordinating student industry certifications, safety instruction, and potential work-based learning and co-op opportunities.

● Collaborating with advisory committee members and local industry partners to ensure program relevance and placement opportunities.

● Participating in professional development, program evaluation, and continuous improvement activities.
