The position of Food Service Assistant is responsible for providing routine food preparation and customer services throughout the Kitchen. Cleaning of the food service program areas, equipaement aned realted items and assisting with serving or preparation as needed, ensuring all food service functions comply with local, state and federal agency requirements; complete all required reports if needed and provide program services in a professional manner.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Be able to fill out production records completely and accurately.
Assists with food preparation as directed, operating food production equipment as required to complete tasks.
Be able to operate ovens, tilt skillet, large mixer, dishwasher any other equipment needed to complete tasks in the kitchen.
Clears, cleans and sanitizes tables.
Maintains, cleans and sanitizes workstations.
Cleans and sanitizes dishes, utensils, pots, pans and other containers and return to appropriate location in the kitchen area.
Refills condiments and/or other supplies.
Follows all safety and sanitation guidelines and regulations to ensure quality food service.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Assists with Food delivery of freezer and dry storage commodities.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES

Ability to read and follow instructions.
Good verbal communication skills.
Ability to operate cooking and food preparation equipment.
Understanding of proper food handling and sanitation procedures.
Must be able to work as a team player.
Job is fast paced, must be able to complete the job within the hours given.

QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in food service or cooking preferred.
Ability to follow recipes and menus accurately.
knowledge of health and safety standards for food preparation and service.
Food Handlers Permit preferred.
State and National Fingerprint background check/clearance.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the kitchen.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
May be required to work in excessive hear and cold in association with the kitchen environment.
