Summary
The Genesee Junior/Senior High School is seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our athletic department as a track coach for the junior high team. This seasonal position is focused on fostering a positive and inclusive environment for student-athletes, promoting physical fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in track and field, as well as experience working with young athletes.

Responsibilities
- Develop and implement training programs that enhance athletes' skills, endurance, and overall performance in track and field events.
- Conduct daily practices, ensuring a safe and productive environment for all participants.
- Organize and oversee track meets, including preparation, logistics, and communication with athletes and parents.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to student-athletes, emphasizing the importance of teamwork, dedication, and personal growth.
- Monitor the academic progress of athletes and encourage a balance between sports and academics.
- Collaborate with other coaches, athletic staff, and school administration to promote the track program and ensure compliance with school policies and regulations.
- Maintain equipment and facilities, ensuring they are safe and ready for use.
- Foster a positive team culture that encourages participation, inclusivity, and respect among athletes.

Requirements
- Previous coaching experience in track and field or a related sport, preferably at the junior high or high school level.
- Strong knowledge of track and field techniques, rules, and strategies.
- Ability to motivate and inspire young athletes while teaching essential skills and fostering a love for the sport.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and staff.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hiring).
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends during the track season.
- A commitment to promoting a safe and inclusive environment for all student-athletes.
- High school diploma or equivalent; college degree in physical education, sports management, or a related field is a plus.
